Rostyslav Kisil, President at the international postal and logistic company Meest, has presented Ivan Vasiunyk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Holodomor Museum International Foundation, with a UAH 2,665,040 certificate. This is the first charitable contribution from International Charitable Foundation MEEST within the Road to Truth fundraising campaign for the project to create the Holodomor Museum main exhibition.
“Our charitable foundation has been supporting big time social and cultural projects in Ukraine for many years. Given our civic position, we certainly could not pass by creation of the world’s first Holodomor Museum, because we are convinced that business and civil society leaders and all those who connect their future with Ukraine should coalesce around it,” — said Rostyslav Kisil during an official event in Kyiv on 23 September 2021.
Meest has joined the big benefactors for the Project to create the Museum’s main exhibition, which have already donated UAH 29 million of private charitable funds from 2018 to 2021.
“This certificate is more than real help to the Project implementation. Meest’s contribution is a landmark symbol of responsibility of a logistic market leader for other businesses and civil society, responsibility for building an ecosystem of projects related to the culture of memory in Ukraine,” — commented Ivan Vasiunyk, Chairman of the Holodomor Museum International Foundation.
At the same time, the international postal and logistic company Meest stressed that they were willing to keep helping the Museum in the future.
“The museum has to be for the Holodomor memory to live. We have to develop it,” — says Marta Yankiv, Marketing Director at Meest Global.
It should be recalled that the Holodomor Museum Foundation has been a partner to the State since 2018 in implementing the Project to create the world’s first modern museum complex commemorating Holodomor victims, in particular its main exhibition, according to the highest world standards. The State is responsible for the construction of the museum building and this is a priority in the humanitarian policy of the State of Ukraine. The Holodomor Museum Foundation is responsible for conducting the fundraising campaign, aimed to render financial and informational support for successful implementation of the project with respect to creating and implementing the Holodomor Museum main exhibition.
Thanks to the funds raised, the work on the Introductory Artistic Concept of the Holodomor Museum’s main exhibition is underway and involves an international design consortium consisting of the world leaders in museum design: Nizio Design International, Warsaw, Poland and Haley Sharpe Design, UK. The exhibition design is based on a museological scenario produced by Ukrainian museologists under the auspices of the Scientific Expert Board under the National Holodomor-Genocide Museum. Early results of such cooperation are to be presented in November 2021.
