On 4 November, the Lviv IT Cluster held an online meetup participated by Ivan Vasiunyk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Holodomor Museum International Fund and Taras Kytsmei, co-founder and member of the Board of Directors at SoftServe. The Lviv IT community, which was invited to the meeting, got acquainted with the project of creating the Holodomor Museum main exhibition.
On the eve of the meeting, the Lviv IT Cluster became a Project Ambassador and launched its own fundraising campaign on the Grains of Truth platform. Start of the campaign established cooperation between the Holodomor Museum Fund and the Lviv regional IT community, aimed at uniting socially responsible businesses around a common national idea.
The online meetup consisted of three parts: an introductory speech by Taras Kytsmei, a presentation of the project to create the Holodomor Museum main exhibition and opportunities for companies to support the project, as well as Q&A. In his introductory speech, Taras Kytsmei shared why he decided to support the Holodomor Museum Fund:
“We want to build the Ukrainian state. And a state is built upon symbols. The Holodomor Museum is being erected in a prominent place. I would like the Lviv IT industry, as a Ukrainian technology leader, to take an active part and support the Holodomor Museum Fund’s project.
The project is being created by ambassador campaigns, and we have contributed with our ambassador campaign. I’m asking you to treat this project with care.”
Ivan Vasiunyk stressed that the Fund’s fundraising activities have two main goals: raise charitable contributions so that the Holodomor Museum’s exhibition be designed and implemented at the highest level, and, no less important, unite people around a common potent national idea. This project — the Museum and its exhibition — is a point of unification of Ukrainians.
Over the three years of its operation, the Fund has already raised more than 31 million hryvnias from Ukrainian citizens: contributions by Ukrainian businesses, donations made through the crowdfunding platform Grains of Truth and also from the Greek Catholic church parishioners.
The Holodomor Museum is a symbol of Ukrainian spirit and unity. It is a mighty force for the whole world, and ultimately for our future generations, that unites the nation, establishes historical justice and pronounces the truth.
Creating the Holodomor Museum is everyone’s responsible mission. Join in!
