On 12 July 2019, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman attended the Holodomor Museum construction site. He was accompanied by Deputy Minister Culture of Ukraine Tamara Mazur, who is coordinating the project from the side of the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture.
Director of the Phase II Construction Directorate Andrii Zamohylnyi gave the Head of the Ukrainian Government a progress report on the pre-construction, in particular on the making of retaining walls to reinforce the slope and installing barrettes and pile foundation grillage for the retaining walls’ piles. He also showed the process of construction of a shaft for the inclined lift which will connect the Hall of Memory with the future Museum building and the engineering corridor under the Hall of Memory, meant for laying utility networks to the future Museum building.
Ivan Vasiunyk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the International Charitable Foundation for the Development of the Holodomor Victims’ Memorial, told Volodymyr Groysman about the progress in the work on the Museum exhibit design and the fundraising programme for the construction and creation of the exhibit. Concluding his visit, Prime Minister Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman thanked all in attendance for their work and expressed confidence that all would succeed in continuing the work on the Project.
