On October 28, 2019, Iryna Podoliak, Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine visited the construction site of the Holodomor Museum.
Accompanied by the deputy director of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide, Lesia Hasydzhak, she inspected the Hall of Memory, listened about the museum activities and the project of the future Holodomor Museum exposition.
Andrii Zamohylnyi, Director of the Directorate for Construction of the Second Phase, informed the Deputy Minister about the progress of the reconstruction of the first phase of the Memorial, the preparation and construction works for 2019 – 2020 years.
Iryna Podolyak got acquainted with the architectural project of the museum and saw the process of construction of the shaft of an inclined elevator that will connect the Hall of Memory with the future Museum building.
Ivan Vasiunyk, Head of the Supervisory Board of the International Foundation for the Development of the Holodomor Victims’ Memorial, told Iryna Podoliak about the principle of public-private partnership, which is the basis for the work on the project of creating the Holodomor Museum. He described the Foundation activities and briefly outlined the fundraising program for creating the exposition and plans for the near future.
At the end of the visit, the Deputy Minister of Culture thanked everyone present for the work and expressed her belief in the scale of the project.Share
