This website tells about phase II of the National Holodomor-Genocide Museum construction project

November 23, 2019, On the Day of Remembrance of the Holodomor Victims, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Olena Zelenska familiarized with the Holodomor Museum Project. In addition, Olesia Stasiuk, Director of the National Holodomor-Genocide Museum provided the excursion by the Memory Hall for the President of Ukraine.

Ivan Vasiunyk, Head of the Supervisory Board of the International Foundation for the Development of the Holodomor Victims’ Memorial, told Volodymyr Zelensky the history of the Holodomor Victims Memorial building in Kyiv, about the return of the state and the international community to the construction of the second stage and about the project generally. Also, Ivan Vasiunyk informed the Head of the State about the progress in the implementation of the public-private partnership, which was the basis for the work on the project, the concept of the international fundraising campaign Road for Truth, and thanked for the support by the state.

 

 

Andrii Zamohylnyi, Director of the Second stage Construction, spoke about the architectural project, plans for construction works for 2019-2020 and presented the video illustrating the execution of works on the construction site.

Together with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife, Dmytro Razumkov, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksiy Honcharuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko (2005-2010) with his wife Kateryna, members of the Supervisory Board, Government, representatives of the diplomatic corps and other officials attended the presentation.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stressed the status and priority of the project of construction of the first Holodomor Museum.

At the conclusion of the visit, the President of Ukraine struck a memory bell that was installed at the exit of the Memory Hall and inspected the construction site.
